Loving the Clearance Sales

In our town, there are two electrical stores. And both are always competing for customers. If one were to advertise a sale, then you can bet your last dollar that the other will follow suit. And the happiest would be us the customers. I always look out for their sales. The last one that they had, I managed to get the best espresso machine for half the original price! I could not believe my eyes when I saw the discount. I had to confirm it with the sales guy.

Yesterday when I pass by them on my way downtown, I saw that one of the stores was putting up a sales banner. I smiled to myself knowing well what’s the other store is going to do. And true enough, when I had completed my errands and was on my way back home, I saw that the other store too had some posters up about some sales coming up. This time, I think I’ll be looking for an oven.

It’s Hard Being an Artist!

I just saw the most awesome wine at the supermarket. I was called Romeo and Juliet. What struck me as really awesome was the cool label that was printed on it. It had a picture of two lovers kissing in a warm embrace. It made me feel butterflies inside my tummy. I had eaten some bad Chinese food earlier, and felt sick to my stomach. The baby blue colors, and the tenderness of the lovers embrace really eased my rotten innards. After feeling much better, I started to wonder who was the wonderful artist who designed this crazy label.

I went back to the supermarket, bought a new bottle, and gave it a look over. The artist who designed this insane Romeo and Juliet wine label is named
Alexis Dogui. I had no idea there was anyone in the world that could be as talented as him. I was so impressed by his wine label design, that I bought myself two whole cases of Romeo and Juliet wine. I gave them as gifts to all of my friends.

I really started to get into wine after I saw Alexis Doguis wine label design. I started looking at all sorts of wine websites, forums, and blogs. I even started designing a few wine labels of my own. However, I could not capture the magnificence of his wine label. The baby blue color and crazy background overlay were impossible to recreate. I tried my best to make everything perfect, but I just couldn’t do it as well from Alexis. I started to take art classes, tried to find my own Juliet, but I just couldn’t make anything work. I even tried reading Romeo and Juliet the book! I even saw the movie too! I just couldn’t capture what the artist was trying to feel. I guess I will just go back to my house, drink a glass of wine, and start from scratch. Being an artist is harder than I thought!

Can Coffee Be Good for Your Health?

If you are a coffee drinker then you have probably heard it several times about it being something that is not exactly helping your health. We would agree with this premise if you take into account what caffeine can do to the body with sustained usage and the addictive effects it can have. But is there any truth to the so called “Healthy Coffee” beverages that we are hearing more and more about? It really comes down to what you define as health enhancing doesn’t it? Every new idea might not fit this category but many will based on what they can actually do for you the coffee drinker.

The main reason this has been put out there for some coffee beverages is because they have been infused with a nutritional supplement. This means that drinking the coffee leads to taking more of the nutritional supplement. Not necessarily the “bad” drink it was before huh?
