• You spend five hours a day playing.your guitar. You run your scales, master your legato, your two hand tapping would make EVH blush. So why is it that every time you see a band playing at a bar with a guitarist with only a smidgen of your technical ability he is the centre of attention, garnering the praise of all the punters in the crowd?

Wait a minute. Isnt that the band that you tried out for the other week? The same band that said dont call us, well call you? The same band that was witness to your smoking 32nd note Lydian masterpiece solo?
Yeah it is, and you got smoked because the guitarist on stage knows how to fake being better than they actually are.

Its not a hard thing to do. I should know, Ive done it for years. Im the first to admit to being an average guitarist (actually, Ive been practicing a lot lately and now would call myself an above average player, but that is another column in the works). Despite being average, I would get a lot of people, drunken punters, other musicians, women, all approach me after shows proclaiming how good I am. Like most of my ex-girlfriends, Ive been faking it all along. And now I am going to teach you how to do the same.

Over the next two weeks, I will share with you my five secret tips to help you Fake Being A Better Guitarist. Well start today with tip #1 an #2.

    1. Decent equipment is a must and look professional

Sorry boys and girls, its time to spend some money. A picture is worth a thousand words, and when it comes to music your image is worth a thousand notes. There is nothing quite as satisfying showing up to a guitarist cattle call with your Marshall half stack on a trolley as you pass all the little Peavey Bandit combos and the like. Straight away you give the impression that you know what you are doing.

But this is not just about your amp. Guitars, effects, leads, the whole lot. This means guitar cases, if you have multiple effects a decent pedal board system set up and ready to just plug in. You need to look somewhat professional without looking like a complete tosser.

Its even more important on stage. Standing on stage with a nice looking guitar and a cool backline is confidence building to say the least. Plus it makes you look damn sexy to boot.

This doesnt mean spending a fortune though. I have an amazing sounding Fender Twin, but it stays at home while my Marshall AVT150 half stack hits the road with me. The half stack with my Epiphone Les Paul with classic tri-tone sunburst finish and some decent threads make me look the business.

    2. Learn to sing

I cant stress this enough. An average guitarist who is an average singer will get more gigs than an awesome guitarist who sounds like a dying dolphin. It makes you are more versatile, worthwhile musician for any band if you can step up to the mic and sing as well. It makes you look like a musician, rather than just a guitarist. Its also a hell of a lot of fun.

Of course, some people just cannot sing, and this is you then dont try to. Be honest with yourself on this one. If you cant sing and you try to then you just look like a fool. And looking like a fool will not make you look like a good guitarist.

A good way to improve your singing is start singing along with your favourite artists. Its a clich, but start in the shower / bathroom with a small stereo cranking out some of you favourite songs. The natural reverb will make your voice sound better and give you some confidence (its an old studio trick to feed a wet mix back to the singer as they are recording). Then progress to the car while youre driving. Its private and you can just belt it out while you are in between your normal routine. Then the hard part comes. Listen to some music with harmonies and try to sing the different parts. I found Alice In Chains is especially good for doing this. And finally add harmonies to songs that dont have them.

When you are confident you can do that, then, and only then, try to sing when you are playing. When you can do that (and that will take a while) you can start to think about doing it with your band.

    Wrap Up

So there are the first two tips, looking the part and learning to sing. These two things alone will make you look more like a real musician and come across as a real guitarist. Remember that being a guitarist is more than just playing well, it is a persona, a way of being. By rounding out these other facets of your guitarist personality, the way others will perceive you skills will rise dramatically. Next week Ill look at the next three tips and by then youll be able to fake it just like that guitarist on the stage.

  • One need only to scan a newspaper or read a weekly magazine to be astounded by the number of stories about new medical breakthroughs, disease processes, emerging threats of disease, or innovations in medical and health care technology. The World Health Organization warns us to prepare for a potential worldwide Bird Flu epidemic, terrorists threaten us with chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, and new protocols for ACLS are released. How is a working nurse to keep up?

Nursing education provides the basic building blocks of medical, scientific, and nursing knowledge, but competence in the nursing profession requires an ongoing process of continuing education. Continuing education for nurses is necessary for the nurse to remain up to date with the latest practice issues and it is necessary for patient’s safety as well. Some states have made continuing education for nurses mandatory and require a certain number of course credit hours be attained before license renewal, or require certain mandatory course subjects, while other states leave it to the nursing professional themselves to accept a perso.al responsibility for their own continued learning. Regardless of whether nursing continuing education, or Nursing CEUS as such programs are commonly referred to, are mandatory in one’s state or not, all nurses who describe themselves as professionals need to be willing and ready to implement change in their own practice by realizing that competence in any profession requires periodic updating.

Methods of obtaining nursing continuing education hours and the pro’s and con’s of each:

    1. Professional Journals: Most professional nursing journals offer an article for continuing education credit. Some offer a partial credit hour or one credit hour to readers who fill out a post test after reading the article and mail it in. While some journals offer the credit for free, others charge $10 or more and in addition to the inconvenience of needing to tear out a post test form and mail it in the nurse has no official record of having taken and passed the course. Obtaining continuing education hours through professional journals is costly and inefficient in that the cost of the journal itself must be taken into consideration along with the cost of the course if there is one, and the time and expense of mailing in addition to the lack of official record of completion and lack of central maintenance of all credits accumulated by the nurse. Additionally, nurses who rely on professional journals for their CEU hours are typically only exposed to courses related to their own specialty rather than a broader range of topics that they actually need to be exposed to in today’s ever evolving health care climate.

    2. Seminars: Professional development programs and seminars that offer accredited continuing education hours for nurses are frequently offered at various locations in every state, in some foreign countries, and even on cruises. Employers frequently pay the registration fees for nurses to attend local seminars of short duration such as one day, but nurses still have to sacrifice their precious day off to attend them or lose time from work to do so. In addition nurses who attend seminars away from home have to pay their own travel expenses, hotel bills, and costs of meals. Needless to say cruises and foreign travel are an appealing avenue, but obtaining one’s continuing education by that method is not something every working nurse can afford to do.

    3. Online Nursing CEUS: The internet provides nurses access to extremely affordable and high quality accredited continuing education courses covering a plethora of professional nursing topics. Online nursing ceu courses are the gateway to nursing continuing education for the 21st century! Nurses who take advantage of online ceu courses are not restricted by geographical barriers, financial hardships, or the inconvenience of taking time from work or family in order to attend courses. Online nursing continuing education courses are readily available for both mandatory state required subjects, courses in one’s own nursing specialty, and courses that all nurses regardless of practice specialty need to be familiarized with so nurses have access to a much broader choice of subject matters than they ever had before when restricted primarily to journals or seminars. In addition to those benefits, substantial as they are, online nursing ceu courses are inexpensive, up to date with changing trends, can be taken from the comfort of one’s own home, generally allow nurses who take them to keep an official record of courses completed and credit hours earned online with the course provider, and allow nurses who complete a course to print the course certificate immediately upon completion.

In order to stay professional and to safeguard the wellbeing of the public nurses need to continue their education over the course of their career through a variety of means including taking continuing education courses. The most convenient and most cost effective method of nursing continuing education is by taking online Nursing CE courses. Online nursing continuing education courses are readily available, flexible, offer online tracking, and provide nurses with the broad scope of subjects they need to familiarize themselves with in order to keep up to date in today’s ever changing health care climate. Online nursing continuing education is indeed the face of nursing continuing education for the 21st century!

  • Banking online can be a fantastic way to save you time and even money. Most large banks now offer online banking or online account access, and for the most daring: some banks are only available online. With the latest in web safety, these sites are heavily encrypted and designed to be hack-proof. The largest cause of accounts being hacked into actually falls upon the account holders. There are several simple steps that can be taken to avoid your account, money, and personal information being put at risk. Some may seem simple, but it is better to be safe!

    1) Never give out your username or password. Your bank will not ask you for your password or even username. They already have it. They will not lose it, and only a very select group of employees can even access it. If you think you need to address this issue, call them at the number your normally call, do not take the phone number off an email or a website, look in the phone book or just stop in at your local branch.

    2) If you access your accounts from more than one computer, be sure that computers used by others have up-to-date antivirus software. You should also make sure that the machine is running an up to date browser that can support the standard 128-bit encryption used by most secure websites. When you are done, always be sure to log off and even clear the Auto complete bar also, it can make it too easy for someone to log in and guess your password.

    3) A good password in very important, also, using more than one password can be just as valuable. If a hacker, worm, or virus is to get into your computer and find a password, they will try that same password in all of your cached login areas. It also helps drastically to use letters and numbers. Birthdays, pet names, and nicknames also tend to be easiest to guess.

    4) Never trust any email sent to you that links directly to your login page. This is the number one trick for hackers to cloak or phish you out of your own private information. Even though the site looks like the site you are familiar with, it may not be. These thieves have become experts at copying the look of real sites with their own copies designed to extrapolate victims bank numbers and more!

By following these steps, you can be confident that your identity and information is still yours and still protected. There are thousands of people and programs trying to steal your information, but you have plenty of tools, people and strategies on your side also! Go ahead save yourself some time and gas money!

  • Once the sink and its fittings have been removed, disassemble the counter tops and remove the cabinets. You will need a hammer, pry-bar, putty knife, screw gun, crowbar, ladder and saw.

Most counter tops are made of plywood, nailed to the base cabinets, with the finish material laid on top. Tile can be difficult to save as they crack and fly off in pieces. Plastic laminate counter tops and wood slabs are generally nailed or screwed to the base cabinet.

Remove the base units first so that you can get underneath the wall cabinets for easier disassembly. Remove all doors and drawers before attempting to remove the cabinets.

If you plan to reuse the hardware, clean and store all the pulls, knobs and their screws in plastic bags. Cabinets can be attached in a variety of ways. Older types are usually nailed to the wall,

Newer units will more likely be held into place with screws. Some models may even be hung on metal or wood cabinet hangers. Metal cabinets are usually attached with hangers.

Pry the cabinet loose while another person supports it from below. Add a block of wood between the wall surface and the pry-bar to avoid marring the wall.

Base cabinets are often attached to the wall at the top and can be unscrewed or pried loose. Remove the cove molding or carefully pry away the baseboard at the floor. Remove any nails and lift the cabinet away from the wall and floor.

  • Are you one of those internet marketers who faithfully believe that if they could only increase the traffic to their site they could make a killing?

This is the way most people think. More traffic = higher profits.

But that’s not always true. If it is going to do you any good, it has to be ‘targeted’ traffic. What’s the difference?

Targeted traffic consists of people who are interested in your product or service and would be more likely to spend money to get it from you.

Non-targeted traffic consists of the rest of the world. These individuals are not interested in buying what you have and, therefore, will not part with their cash for it.

Since time and money are valuable resources, don’t waste them trying to promote your site to people with no interest in your product. Instead, find out where your targeted visitors spend their time. Then you can promote your site there.

For example, let’s say you want to promote a site called thebeachesofaruba.com and one way you will do so is by posting messages in online forums and including a link back to the site in your signature.

Now think about which forums you can post in. There are many popular forums that discuss internet marketing and they have thousands of members. That’s a large market, but it is not targeted to your website. Sure, some of them may be interested in an Aruba vacation, but its more likely they are on the forum to read about internet marketing.

A much more efficient choice would be to find forums that actually discuss Aruba, the Caribbean, travel, or some other related topic. The forum you find may only have a few hundred (or even a few dozen) members. But 100% of them are interested in the product, service, or website you are promoting.

Just two more important things to consider:

    1. Always read the forum rules before posting. Not all forums allow links to be posted.

    2. Do not just write one sentence posts just to get your link posted. That’s considered spam.

Instead, write useful and informative posts that will portray you as an expert on the field. People will be more likely to click on your link if you build a reputation on the forum first.

  • Have you ever joined a company or some kind of money-making opportunity thinking that, it was the best thing youd seen since sliced bread? Then you go to work, spend money on advertising, or telling your friends about this wonderful deal. Maybe you even stayed with this opportunity long enough to make a small bonus check….then, wham! All of a sudden this golden opportunity is gone…completely fizzled…washed down the drain.

    What happened?

You probably got bit by something that most of us have experienced at some point in our lives! The greed bug!

Now, I suppose that the greed bug could be described in various ways. At its worse, it can be a completely selfish little creature, just desiring to get ahead for itself and to heck with anyone else. If they lose out, well, thats just too bad. Tough luck!

But I really think this greed bug usually manifests itself in less incriminating traits, traits that are not necessarily selfish in nature. However, the greed bug traits may be responsible for numerous
    failures in business!

    TRAITS OF THE GREED BUG

    1. Wanting to believe this will work.

    2. Jumping in too fast without doing adequate homework. HOMEWORK should include such things as finding out how long the company has been in business, making sure the products are worthwhile & not grossly overpriced, plus having a reliable business plan or plan of success.

    3. Giving up too quickly when the money doesnt come rolling in.

    4. Not having the patience to learn the things necessary for success.

Now, as I look at this, most of us, at least in the older generations, grew up with a principle of honesty. If someone told us something, we actually believed them. A persons word truly was as good as gold. Unfortunately, these days, with the internet, it really is hard to tell the truth from fiction. Just because somebody makes a claim about something, doesnt necessarily make it true.

HOW TO FIND OUT IF ITS HYPE OR IF ITS TRUE

    1. Having a long-term association with the person or people inviting you to join them is desirable.

    2. Knowing how long the company has been in business is important. New start-up companies almost all end in failure. So while you may make more money by getting in early, consider it to be a very, very high risk venture. You could work hard, spend a lot of money and see your business go down the drain.

    3. What kind of products or service will you represent? While you may prefer to keep your business as an internet business and not bother your friends, still…what you represent should be something you would gladly share with your family and friends.

    4. Is there a workable plan or system to help you succeed? Believe me, folks will not beat a path to your door to sign up for your business or buy your product! Youve got to let them know you are there…over & over again! So, the more support and help you are offered, the more likely that it will be a successful business for you.

Be aware, however, that the list above does not guarantee that your business will still be around at payday. I believe, however, those points do help put the odds in your favor.

So friends, take the time to do your homework and once you do find the right business for you, be willing to work at it to make a success. Dont let the greed bug cause you to fail!

  • How much time do you spend just thinking?? Take a guess – how much during any given day, week or month? I’m don’t mean the kind of thinking you do while driving in your car, commuting on the train, during your morning run, or even in the shower. I’m referring to the kind of thinking you do ensconced in your office, or your den, or perhaps your garden. You are not reading a book or a magazine, nor watching TV, nor listening to music. You are simply thinking.

How much time do you spend doing that?? Most of you will answer little to none. Many people consider spending time “just thinking” to be a luxury. After all, you have real problems – customers, employees, investors – all wanting some of your time, all wanting you to do something. And in our action driven society, we need to be doing something – much of the time we seem to be doing two or three things at once. But thinking?

It seems silly to rhetorically ask why this is so important. Thinking is the process by which companies and people create intellectual capital and knowledge. Thinking is the way we actively develop new ideas, rather than reacting to our current circumstances. Thinking is how we invent strategy. Thinking is one of the hardest things there is for people to do, let alone do well. But to figure out how to make the most of your precious resources, to leap ahead of your competition, and to master the ever-accelerating pace of change, you have no choice. You have to think about things.

There seem to be two broad categories of thinking. One category consists of free-form activities like daydreaming and meditating, and I will address these in a later column. The second category includes the disciplined process of asking questions and trying to answer them. This is the practical side of thinking and is the perspective of this article. Does it make sense to write a brief article about thinking? Not a learned, academic treatise on cognitive science – but a short pragmatic missive, practical and prescriptive. I think so. I think clarifying the concept of thinking gives people a way – a process – and perhaps provides greater access to thinking.

When I think about the issue of thinking, what am I really doing? I am asking a question – I actually say to myself – “what is thinking?” I might further ask, “what does my mind do when I try to think?” Or maybe, “How can I think without asking a question?” And so on. I don’t get very far with all of this, because no matter how I try to direct my thoughts, I discover that I am always asking a question. Every single time.

This would be hard enough if all there was to it was asking good questions. But for the process to be of real value, I have to consider answering the questions as well. Or at least I have to consider possible answers. So my simple definition of thinking is: asking questions and considering possible answers.

Why don’t I just say answering questions rather than considering possible answers? Because generating definitive, single-pointed answers is only one kind of thinking. The second, perhaps more powerful kind of thinking – particularly in the realm of strategy – is known as inquiry. In the process of inquiry, you ask questions and look at possible answers. Your goal is not a definitive answer, for that would bring the inquiry to a close. Rather you peel back the question, like the leaves of an artichoke, revealing more questions, and more possible answers, and so on. At some point, you get to the heart of the matter, just as you get to the heart of the artichoke.

To think about an issue, focus your mind by asking one or more germane questions. Each question should be designed to elicit a response driving your mind in a particular direction. You can ask questions serially, answering each in turn, or stack your questions one on top of another, attempting to answer the whole lot of them at once when the time is right. Sometimes your answers will give birth to more questions. Even your unanswered questions will sometimes yield more questions.

When do you cease asking questions? When you have thought the thing through – when you have developed sufficient ideas that profoundly illuminate your original question.

There are other criteria for stopping your questioning. You might decide to inquire into an issue for a fixed period of time, say thirty minutes, or seven days. Or, you might ask a question with the intent of coming up with fifteen or twenty new and provocative answers. You might decide to keep asking questions until your answers yield no further questions, or until your questions yield no further answers. You might not decide any of these things and simply stop when it feels right – when you feel you have the “right” answer. Or you might not stop at all, instead engaging in the question continually.

Then there is the issue of answers. I’ve always liked those 8-Ball fortune geegaws which offer the same answers no matter the question. But what distinguishes thinking from mere questioning is developing answers authentically and responsibly. I think it is the commitment to come up with a useful answer, rather than saying “I don’t know” or simply trotting out some time-worn old bit you know will fit, but not really add anything.

Many times you have no idea as to what an answer might be. What do you do then? One of my favorite perspectives is, “Well if you did know the answer, what would it be?” Another useful perspective is to simply invent an answer. Make one up and see if it fits. Trust your subconscious. Access all of your stored knowledge and experience – it just might come through for you. I think that is thinking.

What kind of questions should you ask? I have no idea, but it’s a good question. Since I am unable to answer it, I have decided instead to offer 16 questions about strategic direction. I think these questions are worth asking. Please substitute we for I, our for my, my company for I and me, as appropriate.

    What is my purpose?
What do I want (to be, to do, to have) that I do not already (be, do, have)?
What am I thinking is the real thing, when “the real thing” is simply substituting for something that can really make a difference?
In what ways am I being effective? In what ways am I not being effective?
What isn’t getting done that needs to get done?
What doesn’t exist in our market, which people want, and we could deliver?
What other ways would people like to get what we give them?
What are we doing that we want to stop doing?
    What would make us happy?
    What did I forget?
    When will we be ready?
How hard are we willing to try to make it easy?
What aren’t we taking on because we don’t think we know how?
What is the most important thing, right now? What will be the most important thing next month?
    Who could help us?
Where are we looking for answers, and where not?

I hope these questions get you thinking.

  • Sporting a manly ring can boost any man’s confidence. Army rings, military rings, and navy rings are among men’s top choices. There is nothing like the power and authority (even imaginary) associated with what these rings represent that is appealing to most men. However, all rings are not created equal. The market is flooded with rings that are of low quality. So before investing your cash in these flimsy imitations, here are a few things to look and ask for in buying an authentic, classic ring.

Quality products are made from quality materials. Before being blinded by a ring’s gold sheen ask if that ring is made from solid gold. Be wary because some manufacturers use cheaper metals such as brass. The finished rings are then given a thin gold plating. Cheaper price for the same look right? Be careful though because platings are easily scratched and prone to wearing off. Over time, your golden ring will have a mottled appearance of patches of gold and brass. Since you are buying army rings, military rings, and navy rings for their powerful appeal, buy one whose appeal would last. Classic rings are made of solid gold. Meaning, the price you pay for them is worth it since they will last long. Their value as an investment would also fetch higher rates as time passes.

Classic army rings, military rings, and navy rings are characterized by having solid backs. They are not hollow like the cheaper rings. The classic rings’ solid backs also gives them substantial weight to resist pressure. They are made for longer wear because the risk for crushing them when bumped, or any deformity is minimal to almost none. They are also less likely to irritate your skin than rings that were hollowed out. Classic rings are also more comfortable because of their solid back structure. Better or even perfect fit is guaranteed because classic rings are largely custom made.

Cheaper rings are mass produced unlike classic rings. As a result they have pits, uneven surfaces, and ugly marks. On the other hand, classic rings are hand crafted. This means that there is more attention given to details. Finishing is done by a master polisher. The rings, especially the army rings, military rings, and navy rings are carefully polished to give them depth and bring out their classic beauty.

In the final analysis, cheaper army rings, military rings, and navy rings are only good if you don’t intend to keep and wear them for long. However, if investment, quality, and long-term use are what you had in mind, forego buying cheap rings. It would be better for your finances and worth your investment to buy classic rings. After all, when it comes down to it, classic rings have the best value and quality worth their price.

  • Smelly feet can cannot only be an embarrassment but can seriously damage the self esteem. There are many people, especially guys, who have to deal with this problem every day, and also are the victims of numerous medicines that didnt help. To help them I wrote this article hopping to at least make them understand what is causing this problem and how to prevent it. So here it is.

Smelly feet, also known as bromohydrosis, are the result of the interaction between perspiration and the bacteria that lurk in you shoes and socks. The foot and hands contain the most sweat glands than any other part of the body ( about 3000 glands per square inch). Inside the shoe the temperature reaches sometimes 102 F. So this temperature combined with the moisture generated by the sweat glands constitute the perfect environment and a fertile breeding ground for the bacteria responsible for your smelly feet.

The bacteria that are often found in foot odor are usually corynebacterium and micrococcus species. They produce the isovaleric acid which is main substance responsible for the smelly feet. So, successful treatment of smelly feet depends on eliminating the organisms.

Smelly feet can also be caused by an inherited condition called hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, which primarily affects males. Stress, fluid intake and hormonal changes also can increase the amount of perspiration your body produces.

The bacteria that are often found in foot odor are usually corynebacterium and micrococcus species Successful treatment of smelly feet depends on eliminating these organisms.

    Preventing smelly feet.
Smelly feet generally can be controlled with a few preventive measures. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society recommends that you:
    - maintain a good feet hygiene this way you keep the bacteria population to a minimum level.
    - Change your socks and shoes at least once per day.
    - Bathe your feet daily in warm water the dry them well.
    - Dust your feet frequently with a non medicated baby powder or foot powder.
    - Look for fungal infections between you toes and on the bottom of your feet and if you spot redness and dry skin get treatment.
    - Wear thick, soft socks made from cotton to absorb the moisture away from the feet and under dont wear under any circumstances nylon socks.
    - Let your feet breath by wearing leather shoes and dont wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row.( let your shoes to wear out at least 24 hours)

You must remember that these measures are mostly preventive and not curative
and if you still have smelly feet it is time for you to visit a doctor and get an professional opinion.

  • A common problem with many adults is back pain. Many of us experience back pain caused by our daily routines such as when we spend too much time sitting while at work, or when we drive for a long period of time. Lifting heavy furnitures while cleaning up at home, working in the garden, or lifting weights in the gym can also cause back pain. These activities can sometimes put so much pressure and weight on your back causing low back injuries such as muscle strain or spasm, sprain of ligaments, joint problems, or slipped disk. When we have back pain, it affects our daily functions. The feeling of pain can be from slightly tolerable to unbearably painful. Knowing what caused your back pain is something you need to discuss with your doctor.

  • Becoming an affiliate is one of the most popular career moves of the decade. People are learning to use the internet as their tool by making money off of websites, a job that doesnt even require leaving the house.

So what exactly is an affiliate? Basically, an affiliate owns a website and refers visitors to other websites, called merchants. When these visitors make purchases, the other websites pay the affiliate a commission, which is determined by internet tracking devices that keep track of web users purchases.

If you decide to be an affiliate, you need to make careful choices about which websites to refer your visitors to. First, they need to be websites that youre sure will be around a long time. Look at records to make sure theyve been consistently successful – in other words, make sure they wont go bankrupt after you put your time and energy into seeking out customers for the product.

Secondly, choose the websites based on what they offer, and think of the product long-term. For instance, an online library membership is something you can sell to a person one time, but people go back to the same places to buy clothes they like. This doesnt mean you shouldnt link to an online library, you just need to be aware of its differences from the clothes company. Take into account the fact that libraries may be more popular than one clothing site among thousands. If you can, research the companys records to see how much money theyve made.

You also want to choose websites based on what your website is about. Think of what kind of people come to your site, and then imagine what type of sites they would want links to. If your site is about American history, it would be better to advertise a website that sells history books or American paraphernalia than a website offering contact lenses.

Something many affiliates dont think about at first are consumer tracking methods. Some companies use the cookie method – putting a cookie on the customers computer. This isnt as reliable as the site putting your affiliate information in the database along with the customers record. The cookie method is popular and may be completely safe, but it doesnt have the successful track record of the other method, so choose only after youre well-informed.

To advertise the product on the other website, write a recommendation. Research the product and test it out. If its purchase-worthy, write a few lines explaining why. Think of who would be most interested in the product and try to target them. For instance, if youre advertising a face wash and you think women would be most likely to buy it, talk about how clean and fresh it leaves your skin feeling and smelling, and how your spouse loves how soft it leaves your face.

A direct advertisement is a teaser. This gives people an idea of the product and entices them to click through for a closer look. Remember, if youre advertising for a large website, it most likely has other affiliates, so make your teaser stand out from the rest to get more customers and thus more commission. Creatively target the products market.

Becoming an affiliate is a great way to make money, but it does require work. However, if you put in time and effort, you can make money from the comfort of your own home.

  • Chelation therapy is the use of chelating agents to remove heavy metal ions from the body. Chelation (pronounced Kee la shun) therapy started during World War I when poison gas (Lewisite) affected soldiers were treated with a chelating agent Dimercapol also known as British Anti Lewisite (BAL). BAL had severe and painful side effects but was the only known antidote for the arsenic based poison gas at that time.

With the advancement in medicines many chelating agents were developed in the US, USSR and England which do not have as severe side effects as BAL. There are other chelating agents which have been developed to nullify the effects of harmful metallic ions. Some of them are:

    BAL : British Anti Lewisite
EDTA : Dietheylene triamine pentaacetic acid
    DMSA : Dimercaptosuccinic acid
    DMPS : Dimercapto-propane sulfonate
    ALA : Alpha lipoic acid
    Ca Na2 EDTA
    : Calcuium disodium versante
    D-Penicillamine
    Deferosamine
    Deferoxamine

Chelation therapy is conventionally used for treatment of heavy metal poisoning like mercury, arsenic, plutonium, lead and iron, (as in thalassemia). It is only used in acute cases where the poisoning is so high as to justify chelation therapy. The chelating agents are treated orally or intravenously or intramuscularly depending on the type of poisoning. Chelation therapy is also used for treatment of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), autism caused by mercury by alternative medicine practitioners but the efficacy of chelation therapy is not proven for these ailments. Chelation therapy involves undergoing 20 to 50 infusions depending on the type of patient.

Chelating agents work by forming a water soluble compound with the harmful metal ions in the blood. This water soluble compound flows through the blood stream and is cleaned by kidneys and the liver.

It has been claimed widely that Chelation therapy is efficacious in treatment of people with fatty buildups of plaque in their arteries (atherosclerosis). Atherosclerosis is the main cause of heart attack and stroke where in fatty deposits in the arteries constrict the arteries. Calcium is a constituent of this fatty deposit. Chelation therapists claim that the chelating agents remove the calcium from the deposit and thus the artery gets cleared. However the problem with this theory is that the chelating agent cannot penetrate the cell wall and get to the calcium deposit. Further the chelating agent has more affinity for other ions than for calcium.

The proponents of chelation therapy like American College for Advancement of Medicine ACAM (a private organization) and few parent organizations have widely supported Chelation therapy. One example of successful use of chelation therapy is of Mr.Harold Mc Cluskey a nuclear worker who had been poisoned by americium and was later treated successfully by chelation therapy. Further high sulfur foods like onions, garlics, seaweeds etc,. are being used as chelating agents due to folklore. MSM and NAC have also been used as sulfur supplements. However they are not chelating agents as the double bond with the metal ion is not involved and these compounds have mono thiols whereas chelating agents have di-thiols.

The opponents of chelation therapy have pointed to the dangers of chelation therapy like hypocalcaemia and mainstream medicine has rejected the claims of chelation therapists. Caution is advised before undergoing chelation therapy.

  • Everyone’s wearing vintage style from the girl on the high street to A list celebrities. Even high street shops are now following suit with their own ranges of vintage inspired clothes. But why is vintage clothing so popular and how can you get the vintage look?

Vintage clothing is described by Trudie Bamford, author of Viva Vintage (Carroll & Brown) as clothing made between 1920 and 1970. Anything before 1920 is antique and anything after is retro. Although many people use vintage as a term to describe clothes that are not brand new. The popularity of vintage clothing is currently huge with large numbers of people owning at least a few items of vintage clothing and some people only ever wearing vintage clothes. Celebrities have fueled the popularity of vintage by wearing vintage designer clothes like Julia Roberts in her Vintage Valentino gown, worn for the Oscars in 2001. In the High Street Oasis and Next have also created there own vintage inspired clothing with similar styles and colors as clothing from various different eras of fashion.

The popularity of vintage clothing is probably due to three factors. The individuality of vintage pieces is a real attraction to many people. The range of clothing on the high street almost always follows the seasons trends. You are much less likely to see someone wearing the same or a similar outfit if you wear vintage clothing. Many will use one key piece of vintage clothing or an accessory to give an outfit bought on the high street an individual twist. Vintage clothing has also proved popular as many love the beautiful , delicate and detailed ladylike styles that can be found when buying vintage clothing. Many vintage clothes lovers have a keen interest in the history of fashion and finding vintage clothing is an interesting hobby.

Key looks such as 1940′s Dior New Look frequently inspire designer and high street main stream collections and those who wear vintage clothing have the benefit of wearing the ‘real thing’. Finally the beauty of vintage clothing is often in the quality of the garment. The vintage clothing that has stood the test of time and has managed to remain in a reasonable and wearable condition will usually be of a superior quality to many clothes mass produced in the present day. Clothing made before 1960 is probably handmade and quality natural materials such as silk and wool were used as man made and synthetic materials were not available. Styles and trends of clothing did not change as frequently as it does today so clothes were made to last.

Buying vintage clothes can be a time consuming business. Finding the right item takes time. There are many shops specializing in vintage clothes, charity shops and flea markets are also good hunting grounds. The internet provides an excellent resource for finding vintage clothes. eBay is treasure trove for vintage clothes and you can often get a real bargain if you look hard enough. There are also many online vintage shops which make it easier to find the item you are looking for but are likely to charge a bit more for the privilege.

A word of warning, there are some key pitfalls to watch out for when buying vintage clothing. Do not automatically trust the sellers description of the item. Check for indicators of the age of the items such as metal zippers and buttons instead of plastic on pre-1950′s clothes, any clothing with a care instruction label will be post 1970′s. When buying designer vintage you will need to do your research to ensure that the item you are purchasing is genuine. It also important to consider the quality of any vintage clothing that you would like to buy. When buying online you will not be able to assess the quality so should ask key questions to make sure you are happy with your buy. Due to the very nature of vintage clothing, it will be in varying conditions. Wear and tear can range from the easily solved tear along a seam or small moth hole to less desirable underarm perspiration stains.

Finally sizing can present a problem when buying vintage clothes. Sizes have changed quite a lot over the years and a size 12 item from the 1950′s may be the equivalent of a side 6 or 8 now. It is also possible that clothing can have shrunk in the wash making it even smaller than expected. If unable to try the item on use a tape measure to measure yourself and ask the seller to do the same with the clothes.

When you manage to find the beautiful vintage item that you really love, look after it well. Check the type of material and find out how it should be cleaned. If in doubt take it to a professional dry cleaner. Store carefully using acid free tissue paper for very delicate items and moth balls/ cedar wood for wool.

  • One of the most popular pieces of outdoor power equipment these days is the utility vehicle. From hunters to handymen, everyone seems to be using them.

Why? The current crop of utility vehicles is practical, powerful and versatile-a far cry from their “golf cart with an attitude” predecessors. So what should you look for in a utility vehicle?

“Take the time to really figure out how you will use a utility vehicle and what type of terrain you will encounter,” advises Jerry Sandy, product manager for Husqvarna’s HUV utility vehicle line. “Decide up front what accessories and features are required for the types of tasks you plan to accomplish.”

Home & Garden-For jobs like brush clearing or hauling supplies to the garden, says Sandy, a compact utility vehicle may fit the bill. Larger tasks such as clearing snow, on the other hand, require a more powerful unit, four-wheel drive and accessories such as a snowplow attachment, tire chains and a cab enclosure.

Property Management-For farmers, ranchers and timber owners, key factors include engine durability, payload capacity and traction for rough terrain. A smooth suspension maximizes comfort when traveling extended distances. Accessories such as windshields, heaters, electric winches and trailer hitches are also important.

Hunting & Fishing-Outdoorsmen will want a utility vehicle that functions well in remote areas, so consider features such as certified rollover protection, four-wheel drive and locking differentials. A wide wheelbase and low center of gravity provide stability in rough conditions, and accessory items such as winches, hood racks, heavy-duty bumpers, and aggressive tires can be helpful.

  • Learning at home has a great many benefits like the ability to learn whenever and wherever you like. But distance learning is still getting an education and that means paying attention to the course material and presentations you receive online, and also the hard part of studying and doing your homework and assignments.

In order to be successful you will have to learn to avoid the day-to day distractions that exist in your current living arrangements and you will also need to develop good distance learning study habits. You need to create a routine and environment that is conducive to learning and the time and space to study and learn.

The basics of creating good distance learning study habits start with your physical surroundings. Your study space needs to be well-lit and ventilated and it also needs to be as free as possible from outside distractions like people, telephones, loud music and the greatest distraction of all, television. You wouldnt let your kids do their homework in front of the big, blinking screen, so why do you think that you can learn while you are watching your favorite soap opera or reality show?

Create a special place in your home for your distance learning study program. It can be your kitchen if that is separate from the rest of your house. It can be your rec room or a newly cleaned storage area. It can also be your living room, as long as you turn off the television. As long as it is clean, uncluttered, and quiet it will work for you and your studies.

If you have enough room in your house or apartment then you might wish to consider purchasing a desk and organizing it so that you have everything you need near at hand and all in one place. Then find a good chair with strong support for your back as you listen and learn. It should be comfortable enough to study in, but not too comfortable that you want to take a nap. That comes after you have done your work. Organize all of your supplies and material around you and you are ready to get to work.

You also need to organize your time in order to develop good distance learning study habits. Set aside regular times to go online for your lessons unless they are pre-scheduled and allow for adequate time to study and complete assignments. Stick to your routine religiously unless an emergency happens and tell everyone, especially your friends that you will be unavailable during this period of time. Follow the basics to create a distance learning program that fits your life and your schedule and you will be well on the way to a productive and successful distance learning program.

When people suffer a severe auto accident, fall, or suffer some other injury, their immune systems are called upon to work at peak performance in order to achieve a speedy recovery. Those people with root canal fillings are generally found to have a healing rate slower than expected. Quite often, the extra stress an injury places on their defense systems allows the organisms to get out of hand and attack some other organ or tissues.

We all know of individuals who get over one illness only to develop another. This can, of course, happen when no dental infections or root canals are present because of poor nutrition, anxiety, alcohol and drug use, and a whole variety or combination of other stresses with which humans must cope. The more stress involved, the more the immune system is taxed to keep the person alive and functioning.

When the body is continually subjected to irritation in any one or a number of its tissues and parts, these areas often become sick. Take Dr. Price’s story of the man who came to America by ship in steerage from the Philippines to San Francisco and from there by train to Cleveland. All during the travel time, he was confined to relatively small areas where exercise was impossible and movement was restricted.

In Cleveland he worked as a night watchman in a manufacturing plans. It was necessary for him to walk several miles each night over acres of cement floors. Because he didn’t wear rubber heels on his shoes, the irritation to his knee joints and ankles was stressful and made him uncomfortable.

After a few weeks he developed acute rheumatism in the joint areas. At that point, an oral examination disclosed some dental infections. The sources of infection wee removed and with the addition of rubber heels to his shoes, his problems were relieved and he was able to continue the same occupation with no further symptoms of rheumatism.

Dr. Price also relates the case of a patient who suffered eye problems and was unable to read for any length of time without periods of rest. This had been a continuing problem for several, and glasses proved to be of no help. After removal of dental infections, this patient was able to discard the glasses he had worn for 15 years, and reading for long periods no longer caused discomfort.

Many other patients who wore glasses reported such improvement of their eyes after the removal of dental infections that their eye glass prescriptions had to be reduced, and others were able to discontinue using glasses altogether.
