If you haven’t been to a local used Book Sale, you are missing out. These events are treasure troves of bargains. You can find Books, CD’s, DVD’s and other media items for rock bottom prices, right in your home town. These sales are usually hosted by non profits. The most common organization that hosts these sales are Friends of the library. These organizations benefit the library by hosting fundraisers. The money generated by them goes towards the purchase of new books or scholarships hosted by the organization.

Another organization that hosts book sales is the American Association of University Women. These organizations host fundraisers to generate funds to sponsor scholarships for university women. These sales tend to have less ex-library books since a majority of the books and media items are donated by the community and college.

Some other groups that may host book sales are Chruchs and schools. Again like, AAUW book sales, these will have more donated books and less ex-library books.
